BODYBAR Franchising, a fast-growing franchise fitness concept based out of Fort Worth, Texas, is seeking an innovative and accomplished Vice President of Learning and Development to design and execute transformative learning strategies that empower BODYBAR franchisees! The Vice President of Learning and Development will play a critical role in cultivating a culture of continuous improvement, developing leadership capabilities across the organization, and ensuring alignment with BODYBAR’s strategic goals. This role requires visionary leadership, a hands-on approach to program development, and cross-functional collaboration to drive engagement, retention, and performance. The Vice President of Learning and Development will oversee the company’s growing training and development team and report directly to the President, contributing to BODYBAR’s mission of "Raising the Bar" in boutique fitness.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Advance BODYBAR’s mission of 'Raising the Bar' by ensuring innovative and engaging fitness programs that elevate the member experience.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with the organization’s vision, mission, and business objectives.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous learning and professional growth to aid in franchisee employee engagement, retention, and performance.
  • Collaborate with executive leaders to identify current and future skills gaps, and design innovative, scalable programs (in-person, online, or hybrid) to address organizational needs.
  • Evolve training content, curriculum, and delivery methods to ensure a seamless user experience and adherence to industry standards.
  • Design scalable training programs tailored to the unique needs of a franchise model, ensuring consistent implementation and alignment with BODYBAR’s operational standards.
  • Partner with internal and external subject matter experts to create continuing education courses across all departments.


Program Development and Delivery

  • Design and implement leadership development programs, technical training, and role-specific soft-skills curricula.
  • Embed learning solutions into business processes, such as operational SOPs and sales training, in collaboration with Operations and Marketing teams.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage e-learning platforms to support the seamless delivery of training programs across all franchise locations.
  • Ensure programs are innovative, scalable, and tailored to the needs of a diverse, distributed workforce.


Leadership Development & Coaching

  • Develop a leadership development framework to prepare employees for management roles and create a strong succession pipeline.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to provide coaching and customized development resources for executive-level needs.


Performance Management & Metrics

  • Establish and monitor metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, using data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Report on key learning and development outcomes, including engagement, retention, and skill acquisition metrics.


Additional Responsibilities

  • Lead the education team and manage external vendors for learning platforms.
  • Oversee the management of SOPs, content creation, and LMS systems to ensure standardization and effective implementation.
  • Identify, implement, and refine innovative learning platforms and systems to meet evolving business needs.
  • Stay current with industry trends and methodologies to ensure the organization remains a leader in learning and development.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualification And Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in learning and development, organizational development, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing successful learning programs and leadership development initiatives.
  • Experience leading large-scale projects across a multi-site, geographically distributed organization.
  • Background in franchise systems, retail, or fitness industry is highly desirable.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS), e-learning platforms (e.g., Inspire 360, Loom), and content creation tools.
  • Familiarity with performance metrics, data analytics, and technology-based training solutions.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theories and instructional design principles.


SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and influencing vendors, franchisees, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to align learning and development initiatives with long-term organizational goals and strategy.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate both direct reports and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience designing and delivering both technical and soft-skills training programs.
  • Strong curriculum design capabilities, with an emphasis on scalability and innovation.
  • Exceptional time management and project management abilities.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Collaborative team player with a commitment to achieving shared goals.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% to facilitate in-person training, including new studio openings and continued education for existing studios, or as needed
  • Passion for fitness and wellness, with an understanding of Pilates and boutique fitness concepts preferred.
