User Experience Designer, Mid

The Opportunity

You know that a good tool, system, or site is more than just the code, infrastructure, and a nice-looking interface, it’s the way it addresses a user’s needs. As an experience designer, you put yourself in the user’s place and design the best way for them to engage with the tool, system, or site. We’re looking for someone creative like you to work with a team of SMEs, developers, and designers to craft the ultimate UX.

In this role, you’ll research, design, and prototype the look and feel of digital products, making them more intuitive, easy to use, and aesthetically pleasing for the user. You’ll apply basic principles, theories, and concepts to assist in building a design system and work on a team aiming to improve the user experience across web platforms while solving complex challenges. You’ll advocate for the prioritizations of design-centered changes, refinements, and improvements, all the while keeping the end-user at the center of your work.

Join us. The world can’t wait.

You Have

  • 2+ years of experience with UI/UX design or visual communications
  • 2+ years of experience developing wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using tools such as Figma
  • Experience formatting data into concise and visually appealing layouts
  • Experience working with design systems to maintain consistency across applications
  • Knowledge of accessibility design principles for 508 compliance
  • Knowledge of human-centered design methodology or design thinking principles
  • Ability to create and improve design solutions for applications that are based on user-centered design techniques
  • Ability to show an excellent portfolio showcasing broad design expertise and provide examples or artifacts of materials created
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including XD, Illustrator, and Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint and Word
  • Experience dealing with clients when preparing infographics and data visualization products
  • Experience with writing and editing
  • Ability to collaborate with the product owner and liaise between the technical team and the client to establish a common understanding of requirements and design
  • Ability to demo and present designs and key milestones to peers and stakeholders
