We’re looking for Snowmaker 1 or Snowmaker 2 professionals to join our team in Girdwood, Alaska.
What You’ll Do
As a Snowmaker 1 or Snowmaker 2, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining artificial snowmaking equipment on ski trails. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring that our guests enjoy the best possible conditions for skiing and snowboarding. Your primary tasks will include setting up and relocating equipment, adjusting snow guns for optimal performance, and ensuring safe operations around snow cats, snow machines, and hoses.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Starting Wage: From $18 per hour, based on experience

What We Need
Be on alert and at times, on your feet for long periods, including nights, weekends, & holidays.
Work in a fast-paced, high-energy resort environment.
Adapt to seasonal changes around the resort and special events.
Physical demands: Ability to lift up-to 75 pounds, bend, stoop, walk, push or pull heavy equipment and stand for extended periods of time. Physical demands include operating heavy machinery, lifting equipment, and working in physically demanding environments. Manual dexterity and a firm grasp for using tools and equipment.
Work Environment: This role involves extended hours, nights, and weekends to accommodate peak business periods. Shifts may include overnight work, as snowmaking often occurs during off-peak hours. Working in various weather conditions is required. Work is performed outdoors in cold, snowy, and often challenging weather conditions. May require working at heights or on steep terrain.

- Remove ice buildup on snow machines and hoses.
- Maintain a vigilant focus on safety protocols, guaranteeing a secure environment for both the team and guests.
- Safely operate and maintain snow cats, snowmobiles, and hoses.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Fill propane bottles as needed.
- Collaborate closely with fellow snowmakers and resort staff to achieve shared goals and deliver a seamless winter experience.

What We Need
- Ability to work in variable weather conditions and adapt to changing environments.
- Ability to accommodate an extremely flexible work schedule (Snowmaking begins when temperatures drop below freezing, requiring availability at all hours).
- Willingness to work long shifts (up to 12 hours).
- Reliability and accessibility via telephone for on-call duty.
- Capability to work well under pressure.
- Prior experience preferred (required for Snowmaker 2 or above).
- Strong customer service skills with good verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in skiing or snowboarding on ungroomed surfaces.
