Job Title: Shipping Associate

Department: Warehouse Shipping

Job Summary: As a Shipping Associate at Kimberbell, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of outgoing orders. Your responsibilities will include accurately picking and packing products, preparing shipments for dispatch, and coordinating with logistics partners to ensure timely delivery. You'll maintain inventory accuracy, organize shipping materials, and uphold quality standards to guarantee customer satisfaction. Attention to detail, organization, and a commitment to teamwork are essential in this role as you contribute to Kimberbell's reputation for exceptional product delivery and service.

Position Type

  • Part-time (Less than 30 hours per week)
  • Preferrably the 12pm-5pm shift M-F

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Audits each shipment prior to packing to ensure that goods match order.
  • Packs and labels product based on established standards.
  • Maintains database of shipment data to ensure that customer orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting or other associated departments as required.
  • Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
  • Prepares bills of lading and tickets for shipments.
  • Completes information on damage claims for in-transit damage.
  • Transports materials on a shipping dock with a hand truck or other vehicle as needed.
  • Loads trucks using a forklift as needed.
  • Performs other clerical duties.

Education And/or Work Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • State motor vehicle operator's permit for operation of forklift preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to traverse distribution warehouses and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.

You start by meticulously picking items from inventory, double-checking product codes and quantities to maintain accuracy. With care and efficiency, you pack orders securely, ensuring items are protected during transit. Throughout the day, you communicate with colleagues to coordinate any special handling instructions or urgent shipments. As packages are prepared, you generate shipping labels and documentation, liaising with carriers to arrange pickups or drop-offs. Attention to detail is key as you verify addresses and shipping methods to guarantee on-time delivery. Amidst the hustle, you maintain a tidy work area, replenish packaging supplies, and update shipping records in the system. Each day presents new challenges and opportunities to contribute to Kimberbell's commitment to excellence in product delivery and customer satisfaction.
