  • Candidate must reside in the Continental United States and ideally reside in Eastern or Central Time Zone.

Requirements

The Purchasing Agent - Remote is responsible for the procurement of materials, equipment, supplies and services to support the Operations department and the general needs of the company. Responsible for some portions of the purchasing process including processing daily requests, invoice approval, etc.

PRIMARY DUTIES Include But Not Limited To

  • Coordinate purchasing activities with operations and pre-sales engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner
  • Placing, confirming, tracking and expediting orders with domestic suppliers
  • Register projects to ensure best possible pricing is obtained
  • Manage supplier relationships, monitor and communicate performance
  • Work with suppliers to obtain lead times and resolve discrepancies
  • Collaborate with Finance and suppliers to resolve any invoice discrepancies
  • Review, analyze and process purchase requisitions, obtain delivery quotations from vendors
  • Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity
  • Interact closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues
  • Process material and equipment returns
  • Stay abreast of industry dynamics including vendor product offerings and market pricing
  • Assist Manager is administrative functions and other duties as assigned

Competencies

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and volume
  • Knowledge of basic accounting processes and terminology preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook – advanced knowledge of the internet
  • Great Plains experience a plus
  • Ability to anticipate potential problems and proactively troubleshoot to resolve issues
  • Ability to judge the costs and benefits of a possible action
  • Ability to effectively communicate, present information, and respond to managers, employees, customers, and vendors in an intelligent, clear, concise, professional and grammatically correct manner
  • Ability to work collaboratively both internally and externally
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and respond with a strong sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment

Required Education & Experience Required

  • Associate’s Degree required or relevant work experience
  • Entry Level position with 6 months -3 years’ in purchasing or accounting experience

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Operations Management or a related field
  • CPM or APICS certifications preferred
