Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a holistic communications strategy that supports the overall goals of the organization.
- Act as the primary contact for media relations, nurturing relationships and preparing leadership for media interactions.
- Oversee the creation of high-quality written content, including press releases, articles, social media updates, and more.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a talented team of communications professionals, including a dedicated Social Media Manager.
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as members, policymakers, and media entities.
- Plan and manage legislative campaigns and other strategic initiatives.
- Safeguard and enhance the organization's brand and reputation.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in strategic communications, marketing, or legislative campaigns.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and content creation abilities.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication capabilities, adept at collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and G Suite.
- In-depth understanding of the news media landscape and nonprofit sector.
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a related discipline.
