About The Role
We are looking for a dynamic and versatile Training and Development Manager to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, people-first environment and is passionate about both the creative and operational aspects of training. You’ll lead training initiatives, develop engaging content for team members and leaders, oversee leadership development programs, and work hands-on in the blocks to ensure alignment with operational excellence.
This role also involves coordinating efforts for new store openings (NSOs), including facilitating recruiting, training, onboarding, and hiring team members to ensure seamless launches. You will assist with developing our Learning Management System (LMS) to provide an organized and impactful approach to training while collaborating with teams to align training with South Block’s mission and operational goals.

About The Role

- Design and deliver training programs for associates, leaders, and teams across the organization.
- Create multimedia content, including videos, e-learning modules, and presentations to enhance training experiences.
- Facilitate in-person and virtual workshops focused on leadership development, operational best practices, and customer service excellence.
- Partner with store leaders to conduct hands-on training and support leadership development in the field.
- Oversee the "Leaders in Training" program, guiding future leaders through structured development plans.
- Act as a resource in stores, providing coaching, identifying areas for improvement, and aligning training with operational needs.
- Assist in building and maintaining the LMS, ensuring it serves as a centralized hub for all training resources.
- Continuously improve LMS content, organization, and functionality based on team feedback and evolving business needs.
- Lead workshops designed to build leadership pipelines and foster cross-functional collaboration.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs and ensure content aligns with business goals.
- Organize and execute new store opening training programs to ensure operational readiness.
- Support cross-functional initiatives such as new product rollouts, ensuring seamless communication and execution.
- Contribute to the development of strategic training plans for organizational growth and change management.
- Stay informed on industry trends, training innovations, and emerging technologies to enhance the training process.
- Track and assess the effectiveness of training programs using metrics, feedback, and data analysis.
- Maintain a comprehensive and organized library of training materials for easy access and updates.
- 3+ years of experience in training, operations, or instructional design, preferably in food service, retail, or hospitality.
- Strong creative skills with experience designing multimedia content and presentations.
- Background in operations, with hands-on experience in store or team management.
- Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Wisetail, TalentLMS) and instructional design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and public speaking skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- A flexible, solutions-oriented team player who can seamlessly shift between creative and operational responsibilities.
- A natural leader with the ability to connect with and inspire team members at all levels.
