Job Summary

This role requires a highly motivated, positive, organized, experienced individual with a strong record of delivery in a constantly evolving business environment.

Working within the Software Development team, the Business Analyst facilitates change and improvement in the front, mid and back-office processes and ensures clear understanding of requirements. A part of facilitating change includes ensuring projects are on-track and are meeting agreed upon deliverables and timelines.

Tenaska Business Analysts assess overall business strategy, manage key IT initiatives, and identify opportunities for improvement through process and technology change in an agile environment. The Business Analyst must also apply a broad knowledge of business operations, industry specifics, and various technical functions to accurately implement and anticipate organizational impacts.

Essential Job Functions

  • Identify and execute well defined project test cases.
  • Assist with analysis and process design.
  • Prepare business specifications for projects and reports.
  • Formulate and define application objectives and modify processes to resolve business problems.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, decompose high-level information into details, and distinguish requirements from ideas.
  • Monitor and report to management on the status of project efforts, identifying issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Dependable, reliable, and predictable attendance is required.

Education/Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 to 5 years in the role of a Business Analyst and/or Project Manager.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the energy industry desired.
  • Able to effectively manage and support multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exhibits strong problem-solving, prioritization, decision-making, conflict resolution skillsets.
  • Proficient at prioritizing requirements and creating conceptual prototypes.
  • Takes a methodical and analytical approach to solving problems.
  • Able to analyze client needs, providing time estimates with detailed project plans.
  • Capable of creating specifications for solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of personalities at different levels.
  • Ability to explain technical information to non-technical people.
  • Dedicated self-starter with a high level of initiative, assertiveness, curiosity, and inquisitiveness.
  • Ability and desire to continuously develop and grow professionally and personally.
  • Detail-oriented; positive attitude; team-oriented.
