Job Summary
The Behavioral Specialist provides behavioral support services for the Developmental Disabilities Department individuals. The Behavior Specialist will develop and/or provide supervision for behavioral support plans or services that include restrictive/intrusive interventions.
Duties & Responsibilities
As a Behavioral Specialist, you will maintain the Developmental Disabilities mission of Person Centered Planning by developing individualized behavior modification programs, monitoring implementation, training staff, and overseeing necessary updates. Provide behavioral services input during Life Plan meetings, participate in interdisciplinary team discussions and parent conferences, interface with the Office for Persons with Developmental Disabilities during audits, and deliver in-service training to staff. Monitor behavioral data, conduct functional assessments (FBAs), ensure timely updates to plans, and collaborate with residential managers and staff to ensure behavioral plans address individual needs and include appropriate fade strategies.
Education & Experience
While performing the duties for this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate clearly and effectively. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 25 pounds.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field is required. Two (2) years of specialized experience in the developing and overseeing of behavioral support plans required.
- Valid driver’s license.
