Job Description: Back End Developer

Location: Remote

Salary: $140K - $155K

HData is seeking to hire an application developer to advance the development of the HData RegTech platform. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, efficient, and scalable application code to deliver benefits to our customers.

HData delivers a technology platform that makes it easy for anyone in the U.S. energy industry to file, explore, analyze, and leverage regulatory data. With AI and automation, analysts can easily and accurately uncover the decision-making data they need in seconds instead of spending days sifting through thousands of pages of regulatory filings.

HData, a Techstars company based in Birmingham, AL, is open to working with qualified employees fully remotely, regardless of their location within the United States. Anticipate minimal travel, with fewer than a handful of yearly trips for team meetings.

Responsibilities

• Build the future of software development alongside other great engineers!
• Design and implement complex applications and features in our platform
• Work closely with the other team members to design, build, test, and release our new features
• Drive the adoption of new and exciting technologies
• Build, test, operate, and maintain back-end, integration, databases, queues, API, etc., software solutions
• Take part in software design, architecture discussion, and code reviews
• Work closely with our product and design teams
  
  

Requirements For This Role

• Effective communication, flexibility with ever-changing customer needs, and a willingness to ask questions and challenge assumptions. We’re an early-stage company with lots of moving parts and a relatively fast pace. We learn from each other and know that we can go farther together.
• 3-5+ years of experience building software or web applications with C# (.NET 7, .NET Core, Web APIs, JSON, etc.)
• Familiarity with SQL, Entity Framework and other database options (namely: MariaDB, DynamoDB, and Snowflake)
• Understanding of Design Patterns and Data Structures
• Using Git to manage development activity
• Experience with Gitlab and CI/CD Pipelines - Advantage
• An opinion about what code to test and how to test it
• Good understanding of Agile methodologies - Advantage
• Has the ability to work in a global organization with stakeholders - Advantage
• Relevant academic background - Advantage
