POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Lead Director, Construction Program Management, you will be responsible for leading efforts to develop and implement new programs across our retail and enterprise business units as well as to support existing programs. Working closely with key business sponsors across our Front Store, Pharmacy, MinuteClinic, Enterprise, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Operations, Real Estate, PBM, Coram, Omnicare, Shared Services, IT, and other teams you will lead the team that guides new initiative development from concept through scoping and developing, testing, and ultimately through deployment. You will be expected to serve as a primary contact with both internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to ensure programs adhere to program management best practices to ensure program quality, maximize efficiency, drive speed to market, and increase ROI. You will lead a team of Senior Program Managers, Program Managers, Associate Program Managers, and Program Coordinators.

In this role you would report to the Exec. Director, Capital Project Planning, and you will have responsibility for developing program budgets which encompass all construction efforts, including design costs, required fixtures, equipment, merchandising, and construction efforts. You will work with individual sponsors to ensure sufficient budget is available to support the planned program. For each new business initiative, you will ensure adherence to best practices for program development and management, budgeting, scheduling, and compliance.

As a leader within the Construction, Property Administration and Real Estate department, you will also be expected to engage and collaborate with internal business partners to set direction, deliver results, build high performing teams, and develop talent. You will partner closely with the Construction and Design (Architecture & Engineering) teams, the PMO, Vendor Management, as well as with the other Lead Director of Construction Program Management

Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 45%- Lead development of comprehensive construction program management for all new business initiatives in the retail business unit
  • 20%- Establish and guide process improvement efforts to drive overall program execution performance – including identifying and achieving cost efficiencies, streamlining time-to-market schedules and achieving maximum client satisfaction.
  • 20%- Ensure there is continual direct communication with key business sponsors and program management team members to establish and strengthen working partnerships required for successful program development and execution, expectation management, and budget adherence.
  • 15%- Facilitate team development for key personnel through IDP structuring, and by providing stretch assignment responsibilities to further strengthen the team’s construction program management bench strength.

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE:

10 years or more of progressively responsible experience in relevant construction program management or construction project management, and/or related disciplines, including leadership and budget accountability.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years construction program management experience, ideally in a retail environment
  • 5+ years demonstrated leadership and management, with the ability to set business goals, drive accountability, and deliver results.
  • 5+ years experience managing budgets and financial performance for programs or portfolios.
  • Able to travel 5-10%

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge and experience in organizational development (organization structure/change management). Ability to partner across boundaries and influence cross-functional teams while building trust. Strong communication and presentation skills, ability to present to executive teams.

  • MS Project Server

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Business Management, or Design, Architecture, Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical), or equivalent knowledge gained from education and/or work experience.

Master’s Degree and PMP Certification preferred.

Pay Range

The Typical Pay Range For This Role Is:

$100,000.00 - $231,540.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
