Job Summary

The West Coast District Manager is a pivotal leadership role at SEE Eyewear, responsible for overseeing multiple store locations and driving business performance through strategic planning, team development, and operational excellence. This position requires up to 50% travel to stores within the district. Optical experience preferred. Weekend availability required.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Growth

  • Drive sales performance and profitability across all locations within the district.
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term business strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Leverage KPIs and retail metrics to identify opportunities and improve results.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, hire, and retain top talent; actively network within the community to build a pipeline of candidates.
  • Lead, mentor, and coach Store Managers to elevate team performance and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of continuous development; encourage licensing and certification where applicable.
  • Set the tone for a collaborative, professional, and high-energy store environment.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure all stores meet SEE’s brand standards in cleanliness, organization, and visual presentation.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with company policies, operational deadlines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee scheduling, payroll management, and budget adherence across locations.
  • Optimize in-store processes to ensure a seamless customer and team experience.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Maintain regular communication with Store Managers through weekly touch bases and in-person visits.
  • Act as a liaison between stores and the Home Office (Home Base), providing clear direction and feedback.
  • Address issues candidly, constructively, and in real time to resolve challenges quickly.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of multi-store retail leadership experience; optical industry experience is required.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of retail KPIs and retail math.
  • Proven track record of leading successful, results-driven teams.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Optical experience preferred.
  • Weekend availability required.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with SEE’s Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to manage payroll and scheduling tools in compliance with company standards.
