As Vice President, Client Relationship Executive, you will serve as the strategic partner to health system organizations within our Market Performance Partnership (MPP) model. You’ll be accountable for executive relationship management and oversight of strategic programs, operations, and long-term planning. This role leads complex, performance-based partnerships that drive measurable outcomes, operational excellence, and financial success. You will collaborate closely with leaders across revenue cycle, social impact, finance, vendor management, technology, and compliance to deliver integrated solutions. Success in this role requires a dynamic leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, builds trust with C-Suite stakeholders, and aligns cross-functional teams to deliver sustained value.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of Optum’s managed services for partner health systems, ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, and contract compliance
  • Develop and implement strategic plans that address client priorities, deliver measurable value, and foster long-term engagement
  • Collaborate with internal leaders across key functions to deliver integrated, client-centered solutions
  • Represent the partnership in governance forums and serve as the primary point of accountability for relationship health and performance outcomes
  • Deliver executive-level reporting on performance, risks, and mitigation strategies to both client and internal stakeholders
  • Engage and lead cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with client goals and operational targets
  • Act as the primary liaison to client C-Suite and Board of Directors, providing insights and strategic recommendations
  • Manage partnership financials, including P&L ownership, to ensure sustainable growth and value delivery
  • Drive continuous performance improvement in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Consistently meet or exceed service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs)

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in the healthcare industry
  • 3+ years leading managed services delivery and operations in complex environments
  • Proven success managing executive-level relationships, including C-Suite and Board interactions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence across highly matrixed, cross-functional organizations
  • Demonstrated track record of driving large-scale initiatives and performance-based contracts to successful outcomes
  • Proven solid strategic planning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience partnering with clinical leadership and navigating provider organizations
  • Proven deep understanding of revenue cycle operations and managed services models
  • Ownership of P&L and financial accountability for large-scale partnerships
  • Proven application of change management methodologies
  • Proven knowledge of Optum’s service delivery model and operational structure

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $130,000 to $240,000 annually based on full-time employment. This role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance.
