Contract type: Full time
A private equity-backed, rapidly expanding consumer labeling and packaging company is seeking a Vice President of Strategic Initiatives. With operations across nearly 30 plants nationwide and industry leadership across a range of labeling solutions for major brands, craft producers, and direct-to-consumer channels, the business has achieved substantial M&A-driven growth. As the company enters its next phase under new leadership, this executive will work closely with the CEO to drive high-impact strategic, operational, and integration initiatives across the platform.

This position reports directly to the CEO and offers significant visibility and influence across the entire organization.

Geography

While relocation is not required, and other executives in the group work remotely, frequent travel to Nashville is expected. Candidates should be willing to integrate into a strong and active company culture based there.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise-wide strategic programs aimed at driving growth, operational efficiency, and integration across a fragmented, high-velocity market.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, spearheading both long-term transformation efforts and short-term execution plans.
  • Direct large-scale M&A integration projects, ensuring seamless alignment across operations, culture, and commercial functions.
  • Develop and lead key initiatives such as plant-level performance improvements, go-to-market strategies, and KPI reporting systems.
  • Create and manage detailed project roadmaps, governance models, and steering committees to ensure successful execution and accountability.
  • Identify and prioritize operational and commercial optimization opportunities across diverse products and markets.
  • Collaborate closely with finance, operations, and commercial leaders to bridge strategy with day-to-day execution.
  • Support the company’s M&A pipeline, providing leadership through diligence, integration planning, and post-close execution.
  • Bring a steady, senior presence capable of navigating complex organizational dynamics with minimal oversight.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in corporate strategy, operations leadership, and/or top-tier management consulting.
  • Background in manufacturing or industrial sectors preferred, but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Proven success leading transformational initiatives in private equity-backed or high-growth environments.
  • Experience with M&A transactions, post-merger integration, and operational excellence programs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with finance and data-driven leaders; strong influence and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with executive-level stakeholders to drive measurable outcomes.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and project management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead through influence and build cross-functional alignment.
  • High adaptability and resilience with willingness to travel frequently, particularly to Nashville and other operating locations.
