The Position:

As a Bronze (Entry) Level Ophthalmic Technician at Panorama Eyecare, your journey begins with a comprehensive 6-week training program designed to equip you with the foundational skills necessary for success in your role. This intensive training will focus on completing a range of essential tasks, from basic patient assessment and diagnostic testing to equipment operation and maintenance. The overarching goal of this training is for you to achieve full proficiency in the following core competencies:

  • Portable Tonometry (iCare, Tonopen)
  • CL Fitting- SV - Soft Fit
  • Contact Lens I&R - Soft
  • OCT (Optic Nerve & Macula)
  • Corneal Topography
  • Autoclave
  • Humphrey Visual Field
  • Basic Scribe (Ophthalmic/Optometric Terminology, NG Input)
  • Fundus Photo/Optomap
  • Lensometry Manual
  • Basic Vitals (Temp, BMI, BP, HR)
  • Pachy
  • Soft Skill development

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient counseling and education as needed.
  • Awareness of patient flow issues and ability to maintain efficient clinical flow.
  • Updates daily schedule by assessing no-shows and add-ins.
  • Scribes in a rotational pattern.
  • Answers and returns phone calls and writes scripts as requested by physicians and other departments.
  • Stocks and cleans clinic as needed.
  • Facilitates patient experience by assisting physicians in overall patient care.
  • Works within the confines of the team by assisting other departments with answers to questions, patient triage, etc.
  • Maintains a professional demeanor, including dress and work conversation.
  • Understands and solves patient complaints.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced medical office and in electronic health record preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to raise hands and arms to shoulder level without restriction, pain, or discomfort.
  • Ability to perform extended use of phones and computer terminals, as well as diagnostic equipment without pain or discomfort.

Additional Job Details:

  • Works at the Eye Center of Northern Colorado - across locations in Fort Collins & Loveland, CO.
  • This is a Full-Time Position.
  • Compensation for this role will be $19.50.15 - $22.88 an hour based on experience.
