Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
Coordinator of Student-Athlete Development reports to the Assistant Athletic Director of Student Development and Brand Awareness and will be responsible for the approval, planning, and execution of two of the four mandatory educational sessions for student-athletes. The individual will assist the advisor to the student-athlete advisory committee and work with student-athletes to prepare them for life after sports.
Job Related Minimum Required Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications
Prefer experience working with students in collegiate athletics. Community outreach experience is helpful.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge or familiarity w/ NCAA rules and regulations in a university environment is required.

Plan and execute financial education and Spurs Up seminars annually. Responsible for all aspects of the program including but not limited to reserving meeting space, creating an attendee list to distribute to coaches, confirm presenters and materials for each session, execute the event and compile feedback from students.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 25 Job Duty
Serve as liaison to assigned teams to develop relationships with coaches and student-athletes and provide student-development information and updates. Meet with students individually for professional, career, or leadership development.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty
Serve as liaison to the career center on campus. Communicate to student-athletes the resources available. Plan and facilitate resume workshops for all incoming freshmen and transfers per semester including summer. Assist in all aspects of professional and personal development programming (i.e. LinkedIn, career assessments).
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty
Assist with brand awareness for all Name, Image, Likeness programming and the Beyond Sports Internship. Present during team and individual recruiting programs for the SADV department.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 10 Job Duty
Oversee Generation Gamecock Mentorship program that connects current student-athletes with former Gamecock athletes, senior administrators, and youth in the Columbia community.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty
Complete other duties as assigned by the Assistant AD for Student Development and Brand Awareness.
