The Principal Data Scientist will provide AI/ML solutions to Payment Integrity stakeholders in the Commercial Waste & Error space. Applies knowledge of statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, and make valuable contributions to medical cost savings and the efficiency of clinical audit processes. Works with analytics and statistical software such as SQL and Python and others to perform analysis, produce models, interpret data, and drive business value. Exhibits solid adherence to data science discipline in responsibly maintaining models in production.

Primary Responsibilities
- Interact with business stakeholders to understand their AI/ML requirements and deliver projects aligned with the business portfolio
- Drive and manage high-impact data science projects from conception to deployment, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including analytic engineering, infrastructure, and operations, to identify and address key business challenges through data science
- Document and communicate findings, methodologies, and insights to technical and non-technical stakeholder
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Data Science
- 2+ years of experience in delivering production-grade AI/ML projects
- 2+ years of programming skills in Python and SQL
- Experience with Big Data and similar technologies
- Experience with healthcare claim adjudication in the facility space
- Proven solid understanding of mathematical and statistical concepts
- Proven knowledge of the full life cycle of AI/ML projects, including EDA, model development, tuning, and drift analysis
- Demonstrated understanding of bias/fairness testing and responsible use of AI/ML
- Proven leadership, problem-solving, and analytical thinking skills
- Proven solid communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Proven organizational skills with ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity
