As a senior manager on the business strategy team, you will lead transformation by identifying opportunities, creating strategies and developing learning plans aimed at improving the experience for our customers and store partners (employees). This role will be responsible for guiding packaging innovation that enhances food and beverage quality, delights customers, reduces store complexity and cares for our planet. Starbucks has ambitious sustainability goals, and this role focuses on achieving our 2030 goal to make consumer-facing packaging 100% reusable, recyclable, or compostable. The position is highly collaborative and will help realize ambitious, scaled moves for Starbucks, and achieve success, by partnering with a wide variety of teams spanning R&D, Operations, Sourcing, Finance, Product Experience and Sustainability.

As a senior manager, you will...
- Be a strategic thought leader: build the product strategy, articulate it in a simple and compelling narrative, define the product roadmap with requirements, and drive alignment with cross functional teams.
- Define opportunities: Collaborate with partners and team members to translate business questions into key problems to solve, set strategic priorities around desired outcomes, and develop hypotheses to guide research, development and testing.
- Prioritize for impact: Understand what success looks like, define it, measure it, and deliver on it. Ability to be agile based on the priorities and shifts in the business.
- Collaborate and communicate: Skilled in managing complex and ambiguous initiatives, while bringing cross-functional teams along with you on the journey through collaboration and clear communication.
- Simplify and innovate: Critically analyze learnings, and develop recommendations backed by data and insights, to meet business requirements. This requires testing and iterative learning in an agile manner.
- Initiate action: Serve as a champion for our customers and partners through compelling storytelling to lead cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious goals, drive alignment with leaders and influence successful execution of key initiatives.
- Experience independently leading end-to-end product strategy, inclusive of product briefing, development, testing, reporting and commercialization
- Passion for sustainability, innovative packaging, and waste reduction
- Proven ability to build and nurture strong cross-functional relationships
- Skill for seeing the big picture, utilizing strategic approaches to translate highly complex business priorities into clear and compelling plans
- Curiosity to understand linkages between data, insights and outcomes
- Persuasive communication and storytelling skills to drive organizational focus and influence action across a broad range of cross functional and leadership audiences
- Proficency in, Human Centered Design (HCD) principles
- Ability to live Starbucks mission and values by contributing to a welcoming team culture, acting as a positive role model for delivering meaningful results and acting with courage
- If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
