What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Determine records to be released by reviewing requestor information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
• Answer phone calls concerning various Release of Information (ROI) issues
• Respond to walk-in customers requesting medical records and log information into the ROI On-Line database
• Process requests from physician offices on a priority basis and fax information as needed
• Log and scan medical record requests into the ROI On-Line database
  
  

What Is Required (Qualifications)

• Must possess a High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of one year of experience entering data into computer systems
• Strong verbal communication skills with demonstrated success in responding to customer inquiries
• Proven ability to work independently and meet established production goals
• Prior work experience in Release of Information in a physician’s office or Health Information Management (HIM) Department is a plus
