Title: Research Assistant

Summary: The Research Assistant is responsible for the identification and screening of potential research participants, reviewing medical record data and serving as a knowledgeable resource on protocol eligibility criteria.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for working collaboratively with clinical research coordinators, regulatory coordinators, physicians, nurse clinicians,

pharmacy, and laboratory personnel to ensure potential research patient’s medical records are reviewed per protocol.

  • Prepare and provide patient status reports to leadership as requested.
  • Safely handles laboratory specimens in accordance with Orlando Health policy and procedures.
  • Complete accurate and timely Case Report Forms.
  • Prepares new study patient charts.
  • Maintains a registry of study patients screened.
  • Assists with enrollment preparation for the investigators.
  • Understands the protocol and project management concepts in order to aid delivery across program.
  • Able to influence and communicate across functions and external stakeholders.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state

and local standards.

  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Other Related Functions

  • Attends appropriate departmental, corporate and continuing education meetings as required.
  • Assumes the responsibility for professional growth and development.
  • Transmits data to sponsoring and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

Education/Training.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Must have previous experience working in a healthcare related or clinical research setting.

Licensure/Certification

  • Phlebotomy Cert preferred or Orlando Health phlebotomy course within 30 days of hire is required.

Experience

  • Must have One(1) year of Clerical Assistant in healthcare.
