Court Program Specialist I - Pro Se Case Management (OPS)

Position description
The OPS Court Program Specialist I is responsible for the intake process of the Pro Se (self-represented) Case Management Office, dealing primarily with pro se divorces, paternity, name changes, and temporary custody by extended family member cases. The position provides clerical and administrative support to the Court’s Domestic Relations Judges and case managers. Responsibilities include reviewing Florida Supreme Court Approved Family Law Forms for accuracy, ensuring proper scheduling of cases, monitoring case progression, and conducting docket checks. This position also identifies necessary actions and communications with parties.
The role requires the ability to learn and understand family law proceedings, court rules and procedures, various court forms, and case management processes. Case management experience is preferred. A high degree of judgment, tact, and confidentiality is required. The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others is essential.
A Bachelor’s Degree in public Administration, business administration, criminal justice, psychology, sociology, legal studies, or a social science related field is required. Two years of professional, administrative related work experience. Progressively responsible experience may substitute for the recommended education on a year-for-year basis.
This is a state-funded OPS (Other Personal Services) position eligible for insurance benefits, but not for holiday, sick, or vacation pay. It is a full-time position of up to 40 hours per week, except during holiday weeks. The position is temporary in nature but may be extended based on need and funding.
