Overview
The QC Analyst I is a temporary, entry-level, non-exempt position that reports to the QC Management Team. The QC Analyst I is responsible for performing quality control testing on various state-of-the-art diagnostic tests, components, and standards for the food and beverage industries.
The pay range for this position is $22.00 to $31.00 per hour. Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and other factors in accordance with applicable laws.
Essential Functions
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds. Able to work under the pressure of tight deadlines. Able to visually inspect tests for proper performance and/or defects. Able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time. Able to work at a lab bench and at a computer for an extended length of time. Able to work for 10 to 15 minutes in low-temperature environments (4°C and -20°C) Able to work for up to 4 hours in low low-humidity environment (Able to safely handle antibiotics and mycotoxins in dry powder and concentrated liquid form in a laboratory setting. Able to operate a pipette repeatedly and accurately for up to 1000 repetitions per day.

Essential Functions
- Perform quality control testing on various state-of-the-art diagnostic test kits, components, and standards for the food and beverage industries.
- Be part of a QC team dedicated to assuring the quality of these diagnostic tests for food safety.
- Critically evaluate testing in process to determine the root cause of out-of-specification results and carry out appropriate follow-up as needed.
- Prepare and summarize data in a timely manner for review by QC/QA management.
- Ensure that lab cleanliness and safety standards are always maintained.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- BS or equivalent in Biochemistry or life sciences-related field.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and Outlook.
- Understanding of basic statistics.
- 0 to 2 years of QC/QA experience.
- Available to work Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM, with some flexibility as needed. This is a temporary position beginning immediately and tentatively continuing through February 2026.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- 0 to 2 years of GMP/GLP experience
- Understanding of aseptic/sterile technique
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Diligent and dependable
- Ability to give and receive feedback.
- Self-motivated.
