QC Analyst I

Overview

The QC Analyst I is a temporary, entry-level, non-exempt position that reports to the QC Management Team. The QC Analyst I is responsible for performing quality control testing on various state-of-the-art diagnostic tests, components, and standards for the food and beverage industries.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 to $31.00 per hour. Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and other factors in accordance with applicable laws.

Essential Functions

• Perform quality control testing on various state-of-the-art diagnostic test kits, components, and standards for the food and beverage industries.
• Be part of a QC team dedicated to assuring the quality of these diagnostic tests for food safety.
• Critically evaluate testing in process to determine the root cause of out-of-specification results and carry out appropriate follow-up as needed.
• Prepare and summarize data in a timely manner for review by QC/QA management.
• Ensure that lab cleanliness and safety standards are always maintained.

Required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• BS or equivalent in Biochemistry or life sciences-related field.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and Outlook.
• Understanding of basic statistics.
• 0 to 2 years of QC/QA experience.
• Available to work Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM, with some flexibility as needed. This is a temporary position beginning immediately and tentatively continuing through February 2026.

• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
• 0 to 2 years of GMP/GLP experience
• Understanding of aseptic/sterile technique

Physical Requirements

Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds.

Able to work under the pressure of tight deadlines.

Able to visually inspect tests for proper performance and/or defects.

Able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

Able to work at a lab bench and at a computer for an extended length of time.

Able to work for 10 to 15 minutes in low-temperature environments (4°C and -20°C)

Able to work for up to 4 hours in low low-humidity environment (

Able to safely handle antibiotics and mycotoxins in dry powder and concentrated liquid form in a laboratory setting.

Able to operate a pipette repeatedly and accurately for up to 1000 repetitions per day.
