Socket Fiber is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Administrator to join our expanding team. This entry-level position will provide critical support to Senior Project Managers in the planning, coordination, and execution of fiber optic network deployment projects. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of project management principles, a keen interest in telecommunications infrastructure, and a strong desire to learn and grow within the fiber optic industry.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Project Managers in developing comprehensive project plans, schedule, and budgets for fiber optic installations
  • Help monitor project progress
  • Coordinate project activities and resources
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between internal teams
  • Create and maintain essential project documentation
  • Assist in preparing purchase orders
  • Prepare and organize project reports and presentations for stakeholders
  • Help identify project risks and issues and assist in developing contingency plans
  • Support the resolution of in-field modifications, ensuring accurate communication
  • Adherent to industry standards, company guidelines, and safety regulations
  • Assist in final inspections
  • Coordinate with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Prepare and participate in customer meetings, site visits, and in-person interactions as directed
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills

  • 1+ years of experience in project coordination or related role
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with project management software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Being able to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure
  • A strong desire to learn about fiber optic technology

Desired Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, Business Administration, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
  • Knowledge of fiber optic components
  • Familiarity with GIS mapping tools
  • Understanding of outside plan (OSP) construction principles
