Pelican is seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Manager to join our Product Development team. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Product Development, the Program Manager will be instrumental in planning and executing the timelines and milestones for new product launches in lighting manufacturing. This role will involve coordinating cross-functional teams based on skill sets, driving them through the development process, and ensuring successful product launches. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing complex programs.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The annual U.S. pay range for this position is listed below. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on your qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Job Duties
- Develop and maintain detailed schedules, timelines, and milestones for new product launches.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, operations, marketing, and sales, ensuring optimal alignment based on skill sets.
- Lead and drive teams through the product development process, ensuring adherence to project goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Facilitate regular project meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among US and overseas team members.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Monitor and report on project progress, adjusting as necessary to meet objectives.
- Collaborate with the Director of Research and Development, and Product Marketing to align program goals with organizational objectives and strategic initiatives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and efficiency in project management practices.
- Align with C-Suite on regular monthly status updates.
- Additional Duties as assigned.
- 7+ years of experience in program or project management, preferably within a consumer-based product development environment.
- Experience in lighting manufacturing, including LED technologies, optics, thermal management, drivers, and controls (wired/wireless).
- Proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional programs from ideation to commercialization.
- Strong understanding of product development stages and working with overseas and US manufacturing.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Agile, Waterfall, Stage-Gate).
- Demonstrated success in risk management, stakeholder alignment, and delivering on high-visibility, high-impact initiatives.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- PMP or similar project management certification is highly desirable.
