Job Summary
Statement
The goal of the Mass General Brigham Sports initiative is to create a regional, national and international hub for Sports Medicine and related Specialties. To propel this work, and under the direction of the Vice President, AMC Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, the Program Director will create and lead a large portfolio of activities including partnering with clinical and administrative leaders to implement programs, developing strategic and business plans, facilitating human resources and financial planning, managing business development and contracting activities, and directing overall programmatic governance structures and meetings.

Qualifications
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Relevant activities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Program Management. Serves as the lead program director for MGB Sports, coordinating all project management workstreams across project managers, and other administrative and clinical directors, physicians, and senior leaders.
- Facilitation and Governance. Manages key MGB Sports governance bodies and committees. Acts as lead facilitator meeting facilitator in settings involving senior leadership, physician chiefs and physicians, directors, and others. Asks insightful and difficult questions during these discussions and leads team to reach solutions and joint decisions. Has the ability to offer multiple solutions for consideration and negotiate where needed.
- Project Management. Leads complex project management activities. Associated activities may include: developing detailed project plans and timelines with clear milestones and stakeholders; monitoring performance and tracking progress against targets and identified goals; designing and managing databases and document repositories; producing agendas and minutes for meetings; and performing other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Reports & Presentations. Completes data analyses and converts into convincing, persuasive executive level presentations on internal, external and strategic topics. Presents these materials to MGB Sports and senior leadership.
- Communication & Relationship Management. Communicates and develops effective relationships with clinicians and leaders on a wide range of healthcare and hospital topics, including strategic planning, finance, IT, and in-depth clinical operations. Responds to issues raised by stakeholders. Develops and implements an overall MGB Sports communications strategy.
- Business Development & Contracting. Partners with general counsel and serves as lead negotiator in external business discussions with potential partners. Drafts key business terms, and works with internal and external stakeholders to prepare final contracts. Briefs senior leadership on contracts and gains necessary approvals.
- Finance. Directly responsible for financial performance of Sports Medicine budget. Partners with leaders to develop annual budgets, track financial performance, and develop business plans to foster strong performance.
- Human Resources. Hires and manages staff in a way that promotes a supportive and respectful environment, including training, appropriate delegation, accountability, and growth opportunities.
- All other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
- Hybrid or remote work structure, with the ability to be on site for up to 2-5 days per month for onsite meetings.
- Requires early morning and late evening meetings in order to meet with leadership and external partners.
- May require limited travel (e.g. 1 time per year)

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in business, healthcare or related field preferred; Masters preferred
- 7+ or more years of large project management experience
- 5 or more years experience in healthcare
- Analytical Ability / Technology Skills:
- Possesses intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Proficiency in project management software, Tableau, and AI tools is a plus.
- Maintains high competencies with spreadsheets and various data manipulation capabilities
- Has the ability to quickly learn other information systems used within the institution
- Demonstrates the ability to conduct detailed analysis as well as distill relevant findings for presentation to high-level audience
- Has excellent problem-solving skills along with excellent attention to detail and follow-through
- Interpersonal/communication:
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities
- Demonstrates exceptional customer services skills and the ability to effectively interact with other departments within MGH, MGB and from other outside institutions
