The Professional Learning Facilitator, Instructional Coaching (Contractor) will deliver BetterLesson's in-person workshops and learning walks on instructional coaching, teachership, and student-centered literacy. This contract role will join a team of contractors who are successfully delivering in-person learner-centered workshops.
Here are some things you can expect to accomplish in this role:
- You will meet with educators in group settings to empower new teachers to become high-quality educators through professional learning, mentorship, and leadership support, and to help instructional coaches enhance their skills to deliver personalized coaching cycles effectively.
- You will draw from pre-designed workshops and existing BetterLesson resources and supports (including instructional strategies, facilitation guides, product experts, certification courses, and classes) to deliver engaging and impactful professional learning experiences that foster the adoption and implementation of learner-centered practices.
- You will utilize your knowledge of the best practices in facilitation and learner-centered pedagogy to build and refine educators' knowledge of instructional coaching and teachership.
- You will create safe, collaborative, and productive learning environments for educators to reflect on their practice and identify areas of growth.
(Required) 3+ years of experience as an instructional coach in a K-12 setting, working with experienced and new teachers in literacy.
(Required) Ability to travel during the school year during school hours.
(Required) You live in California.- You love to deliver professional learning workshops and learning walks in-person and have facilitation experience.
- Desire to travel in-person at least twice a month.
- You are passionate about supporting educators with growing their instructional coaching practices with experienced and new teachers.
- You are committed to supporting educators in creating learning environments that are diverse, inclusive, and equitable.
- The opportunity to facilitate pre-designed in-person workshops and learning walks on instructional coaching and teachership to improve outcomes for teachers and students.
- Occasional opportunities to co-facilitate in-person workshops and learning walks with other experienced educators.
- A contract to deliver in-person workshops and learning walks with possible renewal and/or expansion the following contract year.
- $800 per in-person workshop and learning walks with travel, lodging, and meals reimbursed.
- There is no guarantee of hours or the number of workshops available.
