Purpose

The Procurement Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of raw materials, packaging, and other essential supplies for the operation. They are responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies, tracking vendor metrics, negotiating agreements, and managing suppliers to ensure efficient procurement. They are expected to collaborate with production, quality control, and the commercialization teams to ensure that our manufacturing process runs smoothly while maintaining the highest standards of quality and sustainability.

This position reports to the Director of Procurement and Supply Chain and can be located in either our Haverhill, MA or Dallas, NC locations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Oversee procurement activities, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier performance management to ensure cost-effectiveness and reliability of the supply chain.
  • Direct day-to-day purchasing operations, including purchase orders, approvals, and compliance with company policies. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production, logistics, and warehouse teams to prevent overstock or shortages.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers of raw materials, packaging materials, and equipment. Evaluate quality, price, reliability, and availability of materials and services to ensure efficient production.
  • Work and collaborate cross-functionally with the Operations, Commercial and Quality teams to ensure that purchased materials, suppliers, and services comply with the company’s requirements.
  • Responsible for conducting spend analysis, analyzing supply markets, identifying sourcing levers, executing competitive RFPs and leading supplier negotiations.
  • Ensure purchased materials meet quality standards and regulatory requirements; work closely with Quality Control to address any product quality issues or supplier performance.
  • Support ad hoc analytical projects as assigned.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is required.
  • 8+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point). Experience with supply chain systems technology, including but not limited to ERP systems and supply chain visibility tools
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • High ethical standards.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Highly organized, motivated and task oriented.
  • Advanced computer user skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams).
