Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Haverhill is a world-class manufacturer of precision machined aerospace components. We have an exciting opportunity for Plasma Nitride Technician. The primary responsibility of a Plasma Nitride Technician is to combines; parts cleaning, heat treating, lab evaluation, critical attention to detail, computer skills, and heavy lifting.

Essential Responsibilities

• Cleaning of parts through a clean line process.
• Entering all pertinent information in the furnace.
• Loading and unloading the Plasma Furnace.
• Removing test pieces and evaluating them exactly to specifications. Document all findings and file results.
• Weekly & daily testing; and documenting of all results.
• Participate in all audits for Plasma Nitride.
• Daily and weekly cleaning of work area, and all associated equipment.
• Training will be provided in all areas for the right candidate
  
  

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or higher.
• A strong knowledge of computers is helpful.
• Heavy lifting required.
• Heat Treat and lab knowledge pertaining to Low alloy Steels, Sample preparation, Micro structure and White layer evaluation.
• A working knowledge of AMS 2750D, AMS 2759/A, ASTM E84 and ASTM E92.
• Knowledge of Rolls-Royce spec’s a plus.
