About Us

Estate Guru is building category-defining technology that helps financial advisors, attorneys, and financial institutions deliver estate planning to real people—without the complexity. Above all, we believe great people build great companies. We make estate planning real for real people—turning a complex legal process into clear, confident decisions about the things and people that matter most. Our platform combines attorney oversight with a guided client experience, helping our customers offer more value and deepen relationships.

We’re growing quickly and we’re looking for sharp, creative, human-centered team members to grow with us. This is a chance to be part of something meaningful: bringing all phases of estate planning to the mass affluent in a way that’s never been done before. You’ll join a team that values strategic thinking, practical execution, and doing great work for and with great people.

About The Role

We are seeking a proactive and experienced People Manager to lead from recruiting and onboarding to engagement, development, and retention. You’ll be both a strategic partner and a hands-on operator, ensuring our people programs, systems, and culture evolve with our growth. You’ll build the infrastructure that supports our team’s success while maintaining the sense of connection, purpose, and fun that makes our company special.

Key Responsibilities

Culture & Employee Experience

  • Champion a people-first culture and ensure our values are lived across all teams.
  • Design and lead engagement initiatives, feedback programs, and recognition efforts.
  • Support leadership in maintaining a healthy, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.

Talent & Recruiting

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting (sourcing, interviewing, and hiring top talent).
  • Partner with hiring managers to define roles, streamline processes, and deliver a great candidate experience.
  • Build and maintain an employer brand that reflects our culture and attracts the right people.

People Operations

  • Own onboarding, offboarding, and HR system processes.
  • Manage our relationship with Rippling, our PEO provider, to ensure we’re leveraging the platform and services to their fullest potential.
  • Oversee payroll, benefits, and HR compliance across multiple states (Utah, Idaho, Florida, Oregon).
  • Maintain and enhance policies, procedures, and documentation to support scalable growth.

Development & Performance

  • Partner with managers to maintain performance reviews and career development programs.
  • Identify learning opportunities and professional development resources for team members.
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations, coaching, and feedback.

What Success Looks Like

  • A thriving culture that scales: You’ve strengthened the sense of connection and belonging across our distributed team engagement scores are up, and employees feel heard, valued, and supported.
  • Smooth and consistent people operations: Payroll, benefits, and HR compliance run without friction. Managers and team members trust the systems you’ve built to make their work lives easier.
  • Exceptional candidate and new hire experiences: Recruiting processes are efficient and inclusive, with great communication at every stage. New hires feel welcomed, well-informed, and ready to succeed from day one.
  • Empowered managers and leaders: You’ve equipped our managers with tools and guidance to handle performance conversations, feedback, and development with confidence and consistency.
  • Measurable growth in engagement and retention: Turnover is low, and employees consistently cite our culture and communication as key reasons they stay and thrive here.
  • People programs that scale: You’ve established repeatable, documented processes for onboarding, reviews, and engagement that can grow as the company grows.
  • Trusted partnership with leadership: You’re a go-to thought partner on people strategy, balancing empathy with operational excellence, and helping shape decisions that support both our people and our business.

What You Bring

  • 5-8 years of broad HR or People Operations experience, ideally in a growth-stage or startup environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-state HR operations (payroll, compliance, benefits).
  • Experience leading recruiting and onboarding processes.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g. Rippling, or similar).
  • A passion for company culture, employee engagement, and building great teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certification is a plus.
