Payroll Specialist

Southland Holdings is currently accepting resumes for a highly motivated candidate to join our team as a Payroll Specialist in Grapevine, TX. The Payroll Specialist assists with the development, administration, and maintenance of payroll, new hires and related finance policy, procedure, and operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Process payroll for 500–1,000 employees accurately and on time
• Administer and process employee garnishments in compliance with regulations
• Manage employee changes including new hires, terminations, and status updates
• Prepare and distribute annual W-2 forms and assist with year-end payroll processing
• Complete certified payroll reporting as required
• Perform monthly payroll reconciliations and ensure accuracy of records
• Maintain payroll files and documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
• Track and manage Paid Time Off (PTO) balances
• Review and verify employee timecards and expense reports
• Perform clerical and administrative duties related to payroll operations
  
  

Qualifications / Education:

• 1–4 years of payroll experience required
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
• Experience with Sage software preferred
• Prior experience in the construction industry highly preferred
• Certified Payroll experience a strong plus
• Garnishment processing experience a plus
