Member First Mortgage is seeking a Payment/Payoff Specialist I for our growing Servicing department in Grand Rapids, MI! In this position you would be responsible for the processing of loan payoffs, discharge processing, and processing other daily functions within the servicing payoff area.

Qualifications

Responsibilities :

• Ensures payments from all sources are processed in a timely manner. Handles non-sufficient (NSF) via lockbox, ACH and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) including the reversal of the payment.
• Ensures payoffs are processed in a timely manner. Manages paid - in - full (PIF) loans.
• Monitors the low loan balance report and issues payoff/low balance letters. Monitors changes to fees associated with payoffs and discharges. Manages suspense/un-applied and unidentified funds.
• Secondary backup on servicing phone calls and responding to emails and voicemails.
• Monitors the Maturing Loans report and communicates with members nearing maturity what to expect during the payoff process.
  
  
  

Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.

Education: A high school education or GED.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge in the mortgage servicing industry and related experience in payment functions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to input data in a quick and accurate manner.
• Strong relationship-building and customer service skills.
• Ability to listen and communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Solid time management skills with the ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  
  
  

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The employee is frequently required to spend extended hours in front of a computer screen, to use hand to finger, to speak in and listen carefully on the telephone.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an in-office setting, located in Grand Rapids, MI.
