POSITION SUMMARY: The Food and Beverage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of food and beverage production and service, including purchasing and inventory management while ensuring compliance with sanitation and cleanliness standards. This role also focuses on the training and development of restaurant staff, ensuring high service standards and an exceptional guest experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties and responsibilities of this position are to be performed with exceptional caring and genuine guest service upholding the Oxford Collection of hotels standards and culture at all times.

Food and Beverage Service (60%):

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow, food preparation, and service execution.
  • Prepare and cook food on the line while maintaining consistent food quality and production standards.
  • Assist with menu development, costing, and execution for both restaurant and catering operations.
  • Monitor and control food, beverage, and supply costs, ensuring budgets are met, inventory is maintained, and waste is minimized.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation by implementing a master cleaning schedule, sanitizing food-contact areas, and assisting with dishwashing as needed.
  • Supervise compliance with safety and sanitation regulations, reporting maintenance issues immediately to prevent disruptions.
  • Oversee food service execution for meeting rooms and other special events, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Implement company programs and supervise operations to meet SOPs, cleanliness ratings, and team performance goals.

Perform all tasks in compliance with federal, state, local, food safety and sanitation requirements and Oxford Collection of hotels safety standards and security procedures. Be knowledgeable about and able to respond to emergency situations. Report any maintenance repairs needed immediately to their supervisor or General Manager.

Leadership & Supervision (20%):

  • Lead by example, serving as a role model for food and beverage staff while ensuring compliance with all state and federal food safety regulations
  • Ensure that all state and federal food and safety guidelines are being followed
  • Assist in supervising, training, and mentoring staff, providing ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and guidance to uphold service standards
  • Assist in recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and daily supervision to ensure efficient operations and staffing coverage.
  • Monitor time and attendance records, ensuring compliance with company policies, scheduled breaks, and overtime regulations, and addressing discrepancies promptly.
  • Foster open communication and problem-solving, proactively identifying and presenting solutions to management for operational challenges and team concerns.
  • Attend daily and weekly staff meetings, stepping in for the Manager when needed.

Guest Relations (15%):

  • Engage with guests in a friendly, customer-focused manner, providing exceptional service to ensure every aspect of their experience exceeds expectations
  • Attend to guest complaints and requests regarding guestroom services and assure appropriate follow-up
  • Detect and act on customer inebriation, as trained
  • Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity when working with both internal and external guests

Other (5%):

  • Communicate effectively with all hotel staff to ensure smooth delivery of services
  • Complete a daily activity log with pertinent shift information for co-workers and leadership team
  • Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for scheduled shifts
  • May participate in the drivers program or other hotel-related duties

Preffered Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience
  • Hospitality / hotel work experience preferred

Job Requirements

  • Food handler’s license and liquor server permits as required by state law (or ability to obtain)
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and holidays
  • Reliable and consistent attendance

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally and often exert up to 20 pounds of force to push, pull, carry, lift or otherwise move objects
  • Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
  • While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat)
  • Must be able to climb stairs both inside and outside in a variety of weather conditions
