Summary
The Sanitation Worker plays a critical role in maintaining cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance within Northline Seafoods’ Head & Gut processing operations. This position is responsible for ensuring all equipment, processing areas, and workstations meet company standards and regulatory requirements, supporting a safe and efficient production environment.
This is a temporary position for our winter processing operations, with potential for continued employment.

This position is responsible for ensuring all equipment, processing areas, and workstations meet company standards and regulatory requirements, supporting a safe and efficient production environment.

Essential Duties
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of processing equipment, conveyor lines, floors, drains, and work surfaces in the Head & Gut facility.
- Follow established cleaning procedures, including rinsing, foaming, scrubbing, and sanitizing using approved chemicals and equipment.
- Safely disassemble and reassemble machinery for thorough cleaning, ensuring no equipment damage.
- Monitor chemical concentrations and usage; maintain accurate sanitation records.
- Dispose of waste and by-products in compliance with environmental and food safety regulations.
- Inspect cleaned areas to verify sanitation and readiness for production.
- Report safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or sanitation issues to supervisors.
- Follow all OSHA, FDA, USDA, and company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to meet sanitation requirements.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Knowledge of safe handling of cleaning chemicals and sanitation equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Previous experience in food processing or industrial sanitation.
- Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, and other food safety standards.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish).
- Exposure to cold and wet conditions typical of seafood processing plants.
- Requires personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, boots, eye protection, and rain gear.
- Schedule may include nights, weekends, and overtime during peak production periods.
- Physically able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to work in a cold, wet, and fast-paced environment for extended periods.
