Job Description
The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) is seeking a full-time Office of Professional Standards Investigator. This is a state position governed by the Civil Service Rules, in state government located in Oklahoma City, OK. OMMA offers a comprehensive benefits packet, including a generous benefit allowance to offset the cost of insurance premiums for employees and their eligible dependents. The annual salary for this position is based on education and experience.

Basic Purpose
This position will serve as an investigator for the Office of Professional Standards for the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority. This position will receive and investigate complaints from OMMA employees, licensees, and members of the public related to any violation of law, rules/regulations, mismanagement of funds, abuse of authority, conflicts of interest, or a substantial and specific danger to public health and safety, or any other matters as assigned.
Typical Functions
This is the leadership, supervisory level of the job family, where incumbents are responsible for performing advanced and complex level work and assigned supervisory responsibilities of lower-level investigative staff, including investigators, assistant investigators, and administrative support staff supporting investigations and investigators.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Competencies
Knowledge of agency policies and procedures; of all state and federal legislation related to assigned agency programs; of the principles, methods and practices of various programs being administered; and of the organization, development and administration of the programs for which responsibility is assigned. Ability is required to evaluate program performance; plan, coordinate and evaluate the activities of divisions and multiple work units engaged in a broad range of functions; to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; to interpret, analyze and resolve highly complex administrative and personnel problems; to interpret and apply policy material; and to maintain effective working relationships with others.
Education and Experience
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor's degree plus four (4) years of experience in a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
PLEASE NOTE: You are ineligible for OMMA employment if you are: an individual that has a direct or indirect interest in a licensed medical marijuana business; an individual who has or whose spouse, parent, child, spouse of a child, sibling, or spouse of a sibling has an application for a medical marijuana business license pending before the Department; a member of the board of directors of a medical marijuana business; or an individual financially interested in any licensee or medical marijuana business.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Work is typically performed in an office setting with a climate-controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise level. While performing the duties of the job, employee is required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires long period of sitting and daily use of computer and phone.

Typical Functions
- Investigates any department or employee of the agency, upon request or with cause, at the direction of the Director of the Office of Professional Standards.
- Conducts activities to deter, detect, prevent, and eradicate fraud, waste, abuse, mismanagement, and misconduct in the agency; recommend policies and procedures
- Presents evidence and investigative findings during disciplinary hearings; provide reports on a regular basis and presents reports to the Director of OPS and/or the Executive Director.
- Monitors and reports on activities taken to ensure proper follow-up on findings, which includes working with other departments at OMMA.
- Cooperates and assists law enforcement with investigating suspected criminal acts; refer certain investigations to other agencies (e.g., state or federal law enforcement).
- Prepares reports on a regular basis and presents them to the Director of OPS and/or the Executive Director.
- Works with the Director of OPS to develop policies and procedures for the Office of Professional Standards.
- Contributes to the good governance of OMMA and assists the agency in maintaining high ethical standards.
- Conducts special projects, as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
