Job Description

As part of the Medical department, the Minor League Physical Therapist will provide rehabilitative treatment and services across the Brewer’s minor league system for both operative and non-operative patients located in Phoenix, Arizona. These services include, but are not limited to, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, patient education, development and management of player throwing programs, and development and implementation of return to play progressions. The Minor League Physical Therapist will partner with coaches and interdisciplinary teams to enhance return-to-play strategies, supporting optimal rehabilitation outcomes for players.

Core duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with supervision and education of the Minor League medical staff which includes Athletic Trainers, strength & conditioning personnel, etc.
  • Treat injured players with attention to injury prevention, medical treatment and rehabilitation of injuries.
  • Communicate with Rehabilitation Team on all medical treatments, evaluations, or exams performed on players.

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of professional baseball experience in the medical or a related field, have national certification from the National Athletic Trainers Association, Doctorate degree (DPT) from four-year College or university required. Candidates must be eligible or be certified as a dual licensed/credentialed PT/ATC, have Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS) certificate or have completed the Acute Management of Injury and Illness Courses that are approved by ABPTS Sports Specialty Council, prior to the start of the baseball season. Candidates with the ability to speak Spanish are preferred.

Furthermore, we administer preventive measures, treatments, and rehabilitation procedures, all under the careful supervision of the head athletic trainer.
