Position Summary
As the Managing Director of Operations at Bold Charter School, you will drive progress in a mission-driven and outcomes-oriented organization focused on building world-class schools.
You will join a team guided by the belief that building world-class schools depends on delivering operational excellence from the start and will play a key strategic leadership role as the organization scales, prepares to open new schools, and extends its impact. You will join a collaborative team of professionals who are relentless in their pursuit of educational excellence. You will receive regular coaching and feedback, and will have opportunities to become a transformative leader within the organization.
To help us achieve our vision, we are searching for an experienced leader with a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related experience in operations, finance, or management consulting in a non-profit or social impact environment. An MBA, MPA, JD, or graduate degree in a related field is strongly preferred. Ideal candidates will have a creative and solutions-oriented mindset, experience building and leading an operations team within a growing organization, and a foundational belief that every child deserves a world-class education.

Compensation
Bold Charter School offers highly competitive compensation, in the top range of comparable positions across New York City charter schools. The starting salary range for this position is $150,000-$170,000 annually and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Leading the development of a multi-year plan to scale operations and infrastructure as the organization grows
- Establishing metrics, monitoring progress, and evaluating results of operations initiatives across the organization
- Collaborating with school leaders to achieve high levels of excellence in all areas of school operations
- Managing the ongoing development of data systems and tech infrastructure; designing systems that contribute to a transparent, outcomes-oriented culture across the organization
- Developing a high-performing operations team prepared to meet organizational objectives
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements
- Contributing to a school environment that is joyful, engaging, and rigorous, and in which students love learning
- Modeling Bold’s core values and building a positive student and team culture across the organization
- Demonstrating a mission-first mindset to ensure all decisions and actions are rooted in ensuring that all students excel
- Have at least five years of progressively increasing operational leadership experience at a growing organization
- Demonstrate an ability to successfully lead strategic initiatives and coach teams to high levels of performance
- Have an ability to translate priorities and goals into actionable insights and plans
- Demonstrate an ability prioritize strategically and multitask effectively, moving fluidly between high-level strategic thinking and operational details
- Have excellent communication skills, with the ability to both collaborate and work autonomously
- Be a person of high moral character and with well-developed emotional intelligence
- Have a keen eye for detail and proven experience developing, implementing, and maintaining organizational systems and policies
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to and alignment with the mission, beliefs, and values of Bold, and to going above and beyond the requirements of the job
- Have the ability to work within a fast-paced and dynamic team environment where responsibility for student success is shared and owned by everyone
- Hold a commitment to solutions-based problem solving and previous experience of such
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree with an outstanding record of achievement and leadership; MBA, MPA, or other relevant graduate degree preferred
