The District Coach builds strong relationships with district leaders to support instructional leadership and the implementation of High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM). The District Coach works closely with the LIFT Leads and Campus Coaches to develop and execute strategic plans at both district and campus levels. Through in-person coaching, professional development, and program coordination, they provide expertise and guidance to ensure effective HQIM implementation. District Coaches may also directly manage Campus Coaches and oversee grant-related activities.

Education Qualifications

  • Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university (required).
  • Texas Teacher Certification (required).
  • A master's degree in education leadership (required).
  • High-quality instructional materials implementation experience (preferred).

Experience

  • At least five-years of experience as a principal, principal manager, TIL Lead, Strong Foundations Lead, senior experience consulting and/or capacity building in districts preferred. Aligned prior experience will be considered for this role.
  • Prior experience planning and implementing HQIM and supporting district and campus leaders to implement HQIM preferred. Aligned prior experience will be considered for this role.

Major Responsibilities And Duties

  • Deliver initial upfront training, implementation support, and coaching for district leaders, especially principal managers and district curriculum and instruction leaders, on implementing instructional leadership systems and HQIM Planning and Implementation. In addition, they are responsible for actively collaborating with LIFT Leads and Campus Coaches for the strategy, planning and execution of grant activities to district leadership teams aligned to the implementation of High-Quality Instructional Materials, namely Bluebonnet Learning.
  • The District Coach manages and is responsible for the LEA leadership and team experience in the grant program. They ensure that all grant activities are in alignment with district needs and requirements. They are the main support and coach for Campus Coaches and when needed step in directly to support district and campus leaders to work through challenges or concerns. District Coaches are responsible for coordinating support at each level within the LEA. District Coaches collaborate with key stakeholders to streamline support for School Improvement campuses as needed. The support of small districts may call for the role of District Coach to also serve as the Campus Coach.
  • The District Coach in collaboration or independently is responsible for the content and skill development and expertise of the Campus Coach role. They work with them directly and oversee their support and interactions with their campus team as needed.
  • The District Coach supports the collection and analysis of data and metrics aligned to program success. They make targeted planning adjustments to ensure that districts receive customized support that is aligned to successful grant outcomes, fidelity of implementation for HQIM implementation and district and campus leadership systems. They support data and artifact collection and submission.
  • District Coaches actively participate in up-front and ongoing training and support, TEA focus groups, and consistent coaching connections with the LIFT Lead. Through these engagements they contribute to a culture of learning and continuous improvement through attendance and participation at all required sessions. They join Campus Coach training and sessions to continue to learn and support their work.
