The role
The School of Computer Science within the Faculty of Science & Engineering is seeking to appoint one Lecturer in AI and Animal Biometrics as a fixed-term positions. The appointees will be expected to take an active role in providing high quality research in AI for Animal Biometrics and teaching in programming in C and/or Python, advanced topics in AI, as well as project supervision and coaching.
What will you be doing?
The School of Computer Science currently has one vacancy for a Lecturer in AI and Animal Biometrics (fixed term) to carry out world-class research and also teaching to support Undergraduate programmes in Computer Science, contributing to the activities of the Computer Vision for Animal Biometrics aspects of the MaVi research group, in addition to being an active and effective citizen of the School and Faculty.
The post holder is expected to conduct world-leading research in AI for Animal Biometrics or a closely related area and deliver high-quality teaching across one or more modules in our established degree programmes. Likely teaching responsibilities include introduction to programming in C and/or Python, advanced topics in AI, as well as project supervision and coaching.

- A track record of publishing at top academic venues in AI for Animal Biometrics.
- The ability to undertake teaching in programming in C and/or Python, advanced topics in AI, as well as to provide project supervision and project team coaching.
- A commitment to impart knowledge to undergraduate students in an enthusiastic and effective manner.
