The role

Are you an organised and proactive administrator, with a keen eye for detail, looking to be part of a fast moving, ambitious and innovative programme? Then join MyWorld, a pioneering initiative driving the future of creative technology in the West of England!

As MyWorld Administrator, based at the Sheds, you will play a key role in supporting the programme, its operations and tech team, and partners. You’ll work closely with internal colleagues (finance, procurement, tax, legal), as well as actively supporting day-to-day operations which come with being based at the University of Bristol’s newest facility.

MyWorld is a groundbreaking programme led by the University of Bristol, backed by a £30m investment from UK Research and Innovation’s Strength in Places Fund. Delivered in collaboration with 13 world-leading partners, including top universities and globally renowned partners such as Aardman and Bristol Old Vic, MyWorld is shaping the future of creative technology in the West of England region.

Please note that this is a maternity cover up to 31 May 2026 or until the return of the current post holder.

In addition, this opportunity is open to internal candidates on a secondment basis.

Due to operational requirements, we’re ideally looking for the successful candidate to start quickly.

What will you be doing?

  • Coordinating administration for MyWorld, including significant financial support such as subcontractor and supplier set up, undertaking subsidy control, contract administration, managing budgets and processing payments.
  • Providing excellent customer service to building users around potential bookings, use of specialised spaces, triaging queries as required.
  • Supporting governance and communications, including reports, minutes, and stakeholder updates.
  • Providing executive support, handling diaries, travel, and high-level correspondence.
  • Supporting event and workshop delivery, including supporting a large end of programme showcase in October.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for partners, signposting queries and prioritising requests.
  • Handling queries independently, using initiative to resolve issues effectively.

You should apply if

  • Qualifications: A-levels or vocational qualifications (NVQ Level 3-4, Level 3-4 Business Apprenticeship) or equivalent, plus relevant experience or significant work experience in a similar role.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including excel, email, web, and office systems. Ability to manage information electronically via databases and spreadsheets.
  • Experience: Proven experience working in a busy, diverse, and demanding environment with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to take ownership of problems, build relationships, and interact effectively with internal and external contacts at all levels.

Additional information

Contract type: Fixed Term Contract/Secondment Basis (for internal candidates) until May 2026 or until the return of the post holder.

Please note that this role internally is recognised as a 'Senior Research Administrator'.

Work pattern: Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week.

Grade: G

Salary: £32,080 - £35,608 per annum.
