JYF - Porter

The porter is primarily responsible for the cleanliness, safety, and general upkeep of the residential facility and surrounding property.

Responsibilities

• Cleans all program areas daily.
• This includes dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washes tables, walls, and appliances.; maintains cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Removes trash daily to outside trash cans, places garbage cans at curb side in accordance with sanitation schedule.
• Makes repairs to maintain the safety and security of the facility, requests vendors for repairs not within scope of work.
• Cleans all yards and walkways twice a week.
• Cleans and removes snow as needed, ensures supplies are on-hand to treat sidewalks, driveways, and entrances as needed.
• Ensures all fire exits and basements are clear of clutter and debris.
• Reports all incidents to program manager/assistant manager, including all unsafe conditions, immediately.
• Monitors all safety equipment i.e. fire extinguishers, spill kits, latex gloves, etc.
• Completes hot water checks to ensure the temperature is in the safe range.
• Completes physical plant checklists.
• Attends weekly staff meetings
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  
  

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Educational Diploma (GED)
• At least one year of working experience.
• Good verbal communication skills are essential
• Preferred/ 2 or More Years' experience performing Porter/Maintenance Duties
