Position Summary

The primary responsibilities of the Industrial Designer/Developer is to provide operational, technical, and creative support for advancing design & development projects from initial download to finalization/production order. Expertise spans design & market research, concept generation, technical artwork creation, prototyping, construction, cost and quality engineering, product testing, timeline management, and factory communication. Additionally, strong communication and some sales skills are part of the required skillset as we work directly with clients to deliver according to their needs.

Job Details

  • Assists design & development projects from a variety of product categories & industries.
  • Works with clients to understand their needs, collaborates with, and provides expert guidance to outline a vision for success. Then builds product to deliver on that vision.
  • Works directly with local, near-shore, and overseas suppliers & factories to ensure product design requirements are understood and appropriately executed.
  • Collaborates with account managers to ensure timely delivery and execution of project deliverables according to project timelines.
  • Conducts market, design, and trend research to understand how to provide clients a competitive advantage through user focused improvements and differentiation.
  • Develops sketches, renderings, presentations and technical artwork.
  • Coordinates with the QA team to review product, determine a testing plan, implement the testing plan and trouble-shoot issues for successful product launches.
  • Strives for innovation throughout all business elements including design & development, timeline management, operational efficiencies, client experience, etc.

Requirements

  • Strong visual and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Team player
  • Good at multi-tasking

Preferences

  • Proficiency with Solidworks, Fusion or other 3-D modeling software strongly desired
  • Softgoods design & construction experience + materials, coatings & finishes knowledge
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Brand building
  • Experience utilizing AI tools
