Job Summary:

We are seeking an organized and proactive Human Resources Generalist to support a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll, and compliance. This role plays a key part in ensuring a smooth and professional new hire experience from offer to first day and beyond. The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of HR practices, and hands-on experience managing day-to-day HR operations. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of new hire onboarding, ensuring timely completion of setup, screenings, orientation, and required forms. 
  • Assist with full-cycle recruitment: posting jobs, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR data.
  • Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries.
  • Assist with payroll preparation, processing and timekeeping accuracy.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, supporting positive employee relations by resolving day-to-day questions and concerns, bringing serious issues to the Director of HR. 
  • Help implement and maintain HR policies and procedures.
  • Participate in HR projects, audits, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support performance review and employee development programs.
  • Tracks and documents employee compliance with required trainings, certifications, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience required.
  • 2+ years of experience in human resources, recruiting, or related administrative roles.
  • SHRM or related certification a plus.
  • Experience with HR software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Netchex, or similar) required; ADP preferred.

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision depth perception, and ability to focus.
