This position reports to Director, Human Resources and will work in Elkhart, IN, or Chicago, IL location.
About The Position
As a Human Resource Generalist in the Human Resource team, you will be involved in supporting the team members and leaders, optimizing HRIS systems, assisting with HR reporting and analytics, and driving HR-related projects that enhance organizational efficiency. This role requires strong technical expertise in HR systems, the ability to generate meaningful reports, and project management skills to support HR initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in HR operations, compliance, and process improvement, ensuring seamless HR support for team members and managers.

About The Position

Your Main Responsibilities
Employee Relations /Performance Management:
- First tier contact for employee relations and performance concerns. Escalates as needed. Ensures policies and procedures are administered in a fair and consistent manner according to company standards and employment/labor laws; coordinates policies related to service awards, FMLA, disability, benefits, and other company policies
- Assist with investigations and resolve conflicts, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Provide coaching and support to managers in addressing performance issues.
- Support and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Champion regular surveys and feedback sessions to assess employee morale and identify areas for improvement.
- Utilize HR analytics to track and analyze key HR metrics, providing insights to support data-driven decision-making.
- Prepare regular HR reports for leadership.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and workforce management.
- Support payroll processing.
- Act as an HRIS resource for managers, ensuring accurate data insights and HR process alignment.
- Provide employees with HRIS navigation assistance, answering questions related to payroll, benefits, and HR policies.
- Maintain, update, and troubleshoot HRIS systems (UKG), ensuring data integrity and functionality.
- Collaborate with shared services to implement system enhancements and resolve technical issues.
- Train managers and team members on HRIS processes, self-service features, and reporting tools.
- Maintains employee’s records and ensures confidential information is handled appropriately and is kept secure
- Lead and support HR initiatives such as policy implementations and talent management programs.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and efficiency gains.

A suitable background would be a solid experience within Human Resources – as well as the following qualifications and experiences:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years HR generalist experience, supporting employees in multiple locations.
- Knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and data compliance.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a customer-service mindset.
- Proficiency in HRIS platforms preference for UKG (e.g., Workday, SAP, ADP) and HR reporting tools.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in HR data management and dashboard creation.
- Excellent Excel skills, PowerBI experience a plus
- Project management experience a plus (PMP or HR-specific project management certification preferred).
