Lucky Goat Coffee is a specialty coffee production roaster based out of Tallahassee, Florida and making waves nationally. Since opening in 2010, we have continued to remain focused on the expansion of the brand through exceptional customer interactions and company specialization. With the addition of our Franchise Program, we are just getting started on Waking Up the Luck of the Southeast!

The Human Resource Director is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of HR functions within the framework of Lucky Goat’s CORE values and strategic vision. This position will work in close liaison with all departments and be at the forefront of human resource development and expansion throughout the company.

This is a full-time onsite position within Tallahassee, FL reporting to the Vice President of Branding.

Job Description

Oversee talent acquisition programs for all Lucky Goat positions. Partnering with department leaders to recruit the next generation of coffee professionals by implementing Lucky Goat’s recruitment strategy and ensuring a successful onboarding of new employees.

Direct day-to-day Human Resource activities and events that positively influence the Lucky Goat culture, overall employee engagement, and morale. Assist in the planning of employee events and gatherings.

Oversee the payroll process for the company. Ensuring weekly payroll processing is accurate and timely, compliance with all applicable payroll tax laws and regulations, and resolving any payroll discrepancies in the payroll system swiftly.

Oversee the annual performance evaluation process in partnership with departmental leaders. Ensuring the companywide succession planning strategies are continually being fine-tuned and strengthened.

Maintain a thorough employee manual filled with policies and procedures that aid in a positive employment experience. Lead the yearly audit of the employee manual to continually strengthen its contents.

Manage development programs and initiatives that provide professional growth opportunities for employees.Coordinate professional development trainings and certification activities for all Lucky Goat employees.

Oversee the administration of Lucky Goat’s benefits programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, 401(k), mileage payout, and PTO. Analyze trends in compensation, benefits, and incentive pay programs to ensure Lucky Goat attracts and retains top talent.

Oversee annual audits and the open enrollment periods of our benefit programs to ensure the best programs are being curated for our employees.

Provide hands-on and on-going professional HR coaching and guidance for leaders in operational day-to-day business as well as customer-oriented HR service to our employees.

Drive diversity and inclusion initiatives to cultivate an inclusive workplace companywide.

Evaluate and analyze programs using relevant data gathered to identify gaps and recommend changes. Identify key HR metrics to monitor employee retention, engagement, and satisfaction.

Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant governmental and legal regulations, policies and procedures. Recommend best practices, including health and safety regulations.

Oversee the Human Resource departmental budget ensuring strong financial performance across all budgetary items.

Perform other special assignments that aid the strategic vision of Lucky Goat as directed by Senior Leadership.

Requirements

8+ years of diverse HR experience, people operations, or related HR management field.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.

SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

Maintain up-to-date and thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

Proven ability to be an objective and trusted advisor for HR Business Partners, employees, and managers by building strong partnerships. Focusing on positively contributing to morale and company culture.

Ability to consistently exhibit high levels of discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to work independently and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to influence others

Ability to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways and adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.

Proven ability to coach and consult with a wide range of management and employees for success.

Superb communication skills including effective listening, writing, and presenting; ability to express thoughts in a clear and concise manner.

Demonstrated experience learning and thriving in a constantly changing environment and to cultivate relationships across all teams.

Flexible and adaptable to changing business requirements.
