Schedule: This is an in person position, Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm.

Wage Range: $20.55 – $25.00 hourly, Non-Exempt

Position Overview

The role of the NARA NW Family Recovery Navigator is to provide assistance and advocacy for Native American families who are involved with ODHS / ICWA in Multnomah County. Navigators actively reach out to clients both in person and by phone to support the engagement process with FIT/ ART or SUD treatment services and/or their ODHS caseworker. The Navigator will work to eliminate any barriers to treatment participation including appointments with OHP, transportation, client fears and motivation, and understanding family or relationship resistance to treatment.

What You Will Do

  • Respond to clients in a trauma informed manner, creating a safe space when meeting with clients.
  • Address client in distress or crisis, using culturally educated means and by using knowledge of local resources, and treatment services.
  • Practice recovery-oriented system of care recognizing the individuals cultural needs and peer principles with clients by using person-first language.
  • Provide information about, the various types of recovery, and recovery supports, and guide clients to their preferred recovery program, Wellbriety, AA, or NA.
  • Transport clients to initial SUD assessment, 12-step meetings, UAs, and other recovery activities.
  • Assist clients in finding resources for clean and sober housing, and childcare.
