Executive Assistant - Student Affairs

The Executive Assistant I is a full-time university staff position, Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs within the Division of Student Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (UWL). The Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs performs a variety of specialized, complex, and confidential administrative assistance duties of the highest level of responsibility, confidentially, and sensitivity for the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Dean of Students. The Executive Assistant utilizes discretion and operates independently with minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree
• Experience working at an institution of higher learning
• Evidence of strong time management and attention to detail
• Evidence of strong oral and written interpersonal skills
• Evidence of ability to maintain confidential material
• Evidence of strong ability and willingness to adapt to change
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Suite products and UWL’s LMS Canvas
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience working at UWL
• Experience with collaborating across multiple units within a higher education institution and UW System
• Evidence of the ability to work with multiple constituents with a wide range of personal and professional backgrounds (students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, community partners, etc.)
• Evidence of advanced proficiency with software tools associated with higher education such as web design, data collection, etc.
  
  

Working Conditions And Environment

• Work hours are generally Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
• Occasional requests to work extended hours or a varied schedule, based on event needs and meetings, can be expected.
