Job Summary

We are seeking a talented Director, Regional Operations, to join our team. The Director, Regional Operations is responsible for the following:

Responsibilities

The Regional Operations Director is responsible for the safe, effective, and profitable operations of the branches and on-site customer programs in the aligned region. To accomplish these goals, this leadership role ensures that the regional team is provided with the tools, resources, infrastructure, and guidance needed to meet and exceed both customer and internal expectations . In this position, you will report to the Vice President of North American Operations.

  • Customer Support :
  • Track and chart the OTD (On-Time Delivery) and the service requirements of the customer accounts serviced within the region.
  • Ensure that branches within the region are exceeding or meeting customer requirements and resolving any corrective actions associated with customer programs. Conduct yearly customer surveys and review with branch management.
  • Maintains a professional and courteous relationship with all customers internal and external.
  • Oversee operational performance and support all sales growth, Inventory Solutions profitability strategies, and other plans in partnership with the sales team.
  • Understand the competitive landscape, its impact on the local market and develop strategies to gain market share and reduce loss of current market share.
  • Personnel :
  • Assist branch leaders in identifying, quantifying, and maintaining the necessary manning levels budgeted under the branches within the region.
  • Able to interview, hire, train, coach, and correct management personnel with continuous motivation and professional development.
  • Provide yearly performance appraisals with Branch Managers by conducting face to face meetings to review performance objectives.
  • Coach and counsel direct reports to perform and in ongoing development of skills

  • Secure company assets and accountability :
  • Ensures Adherence to the Safety programs, housekeeping and security responsibilities set forth by senior management.
  • Responsible for the security and accounting of company owned inventory assets.
  • Balance operating expenses with higher level of service, while looking for ways to improve processes and remove non-value-added activities.
  • Policy and Procedures :
  • Comply with the set policies & procedures that have been established by Supply Technologies or ParkOhio.
  • Detailed-oriented and ensures compliance with set due dates and periodic reporting.
  • Ensures submission of thorough research and customer knowledge during the monthly SOP forecasting process.
  • Knowledge of and drives compliance with ISO standards, where applicable.
  • Financial Acumen :
  • Able to review, fully understand and forecast using monthly financial statements which include sales forecasting, manning, expenses, and A/P reporting.
  • Responsible for communicating sales variances outside of forecast to senior management with thorough analysis.
  • Holds branch leaders accountable for their financial results and empowers them to improve through teaching/coaching
  • Productivity :
  • Understands and justifies manning requirements within branches aligned to the region.
  • Establishes, inspects, and ensures compliance with productivity requirements for branches and on-site employees within the region.
  • Safety :
  • Ensures all branches in the region remain in compliance with local city, state, and federal regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and direct programs to ensure the safety of all personnel to meet Company standards and federal regulations.
  • Monitor the cleanliness and working conditions of all equipment, overseeing repairs, adjustments or replacements as needed.
  • Ensures the reporting of all work-related injuries within the region to Human Resources and monitors the filing of appropriate reports.
  • Actively promotes safety awareness and culture; ensures the continued effectiveness of company safety programs.

Must Haves

  • Bachelors degree is required. Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in branch or distribution operations.
  • Knowledge of monthly financial forecasting and annual planning.
  • Project Management experience is preferred.
  • Fastener knowledge preferred.
  • P&L experience required; multiple-site P&L experience preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skill
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Travel up to 50%
