Arsenal Biosciences Inc. is a clinical-stage programmable cell therapy company engineering advanced CAR T-cell therapies for solid tumors. We seek a talented and experienced Director, Program Management & Alliances to work onsite/hybrid/remote based in our South San Francisco office.

ArsenalBio is seeking a Program Manager to manage one or more highly complex cell therapy R&D programs and/or high profile partnerships. This role will partner with a program team and program team lead to develop, gain governance approval, and execute the program strategy. Effective cross-functional communication and risk management are key responsibilities of this role. This candidate may also be the primary point of contact with an external partner to manage day-to-day collaboration activities. As we grow our organization, this person will be expected to lead or participate in initiatives to resolve complex operational issues or improve business operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with the program team lead and functional leadership to organize the formation of a program team
  • Work with the program team lead and functional team members to define project scope and strategy, and to develop comprehensive end-to-end program plans, including defining objectives, milestones, and measurable deliverables.
  • Coordinate preparation and review of governance documents, project reports, budgets, etc.
  • Manages multiple projects as part of complex programs to maximize value generation
  • Along with the program team lead, represent the program team at governance meetings
  • Support the program team in proactively identifying program risks and implementing mitigation plans to prevent issues, ensuring timely communication with senior executive management.
  • Drives execution of program plans and critical decision-making, while taking accountability for ‘on time, on budget’ delivery of program goals & milestones.
  • Provides expert guidance on budget planning, forecasting, and leverages quantitative analytics to forecast time and cost to goals & milestones.
  • May partner with external collaborators to guide joint development efforts and decisions, and maximize the value of the partnership
  • Co-chair effective, action-oriented program team and/or partnership meetings, communicating minutes, decisions, and actions in a timely manner
  • Lead or participate in one or more initiatives to build operational efficiency, company culture, and sustainable business processes
  • Support and be an example of high-performing team behaviors, including transparency, collaboration, shared accountability, and humility.
  • Support and facilitate career development of PM staff

Who You Are

  • A bachelor's degree with at least 10-12 years of relevant experience or a master's degree with at least 8-10 years of relevant experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
  • At least 5-7 years experience as a project management experience with experience in early and late drug development in the capacity as a program manager.
  • Must have experience applying the principles, concepts, practices, and standards of pharmaceutical R&D project management
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and resolve conflicts between internal team members and with external partners
  • Must be able to understand and communicate scientific and business data and have good presentation skills
  • Must be able to quickly learn new skills and knowledge on the job, demonstrate productivity, and deliver high-quality results
  • Must be able to work under minimal and at times no supervision, determine personal work plan, and schedule tasks and activities
  • PMP certification and alliance management experience desired
  • Prior experience in cell therapy, synthetic biology, and immuno-oncology research desired
  • Proficiency in GSuite, Smartsheet, and other productivity tools is a plus

The estimated base salary for the preferred primary location of the San Francisco Bay area ranges from $200,100- $245,100. Salary ranges for other locations may vary. Base pay offered may vary based on job-related knowledge, experience, education, and location. Beyond these considerations, we are committed to pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current employees when making any final offers.
