Job Overview

Silicoat Roofing Inc., a fast-growing commercial and industrial roofing contractor, is looking for a seasoned and visionary Director of Roofing Operations to lead our field teams, drive operational standards, and champion a culture of excellence. This executive leadership role is responsible for overseeing all production activities—ensuring quality, safety, and innovation are embedded across every project from single ply reroofs to large-scale new roof installations and comprehensive maintenance programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enforce best-in-class production standards and safety protocols across all projects.
  • Lead and oversee roofing operations including single ply reroofs, new construction, repairs, and maintenance programs.
  • Drive strategic planning and resource allocation to increase profitability and project efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, building codes, and company safety policies.
  • Mentor, develop, and empower upper and lower management and field personnel.
  • Build and implement quality assurance programs, including inspections and reviews.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align operational goals with business objectives.
  • Oversee vendor negotiations and manage material procurement processes.
  • Evaluate performance metrics and continuously refine operations to improve service delivery.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in commercial and industrial roofing operations.
  • Deep technical knowledge of TPO, EPDM, PVC, and modified bitumen systems.
  • Proven success in upper management roles with responsibility for both field and office teams.
  • Skilled in project management software and financial performance analysis.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire and align diverse teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Certifications from NRCA, RCI, or similar bodies preferred.
  • Familiarity with green building practices and sustainable roofing technologies is a plus.

Schedule

  • Full-Time - Monday to Friday
  • Hybrid position (office-based in Troy, MI, with regular site visits)

Location

  • Troy, MI (Hybrid Role)
  • Some travel to project sites required; per diem provided for travel projects.
