Position Summary

  • The Director of Community Education & Digital Wellness offers strategic leadership in the design, development, and evaluation of digital educational programs and initiatives. This position steers efforts across the state and beyond to advance proactive digital wellness and educational opportunities for diverse populations. Key responsibilities include developing, implementing, and expanding a comprehensive framework for digital literacy, online safety, and healthy technology practices. The Director is also accountable for staff oversight, program expansion, grant writing, fundraising, and marketing activities, including management of web presence, to ensure the long-term sustainability and impact of these programs.

Job Duties

  • Lead the strategic direction, planning, and execution of digital wellness and education programs to serve diverse communities across the state and more.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of educators, outreach specialists, and support staff.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor a business plan to expand program reach and effectiveness.
  • In cooperation with agency partners, identify, cultivate, and secure funding sources through grant writing, donor relations, and fundraising campaigns.
  • Actively engage in marketing efforts, including creation and maintenance of website content, social media engagement, and public relations.
  • Oversee the creation and delivery of training sessions, both in large group settings and individualized consultations.
  • Ensure all curriculum, educational materials and digital resources remain current, relevant, and accessible to target audiences.
  • Oversee scheduling, logistics, and implementation of training sessions, workshops, and webinars using standardized protocols.
  • Establish performance metrics and regularly evaluate program outcomes, making data-driven improvements as necessary.
  • Conduct training sessions, presentations, and program events, both in-person and virtually, as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal staff to ensure materials are accurate, engaging, and relevant.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support education staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
  • Monitor staff performance and program outcomes, making improvements as necessary.
  • Represent agency at conferences, community events, partner meetings, and media engagements to build visibility and strategic partnerships.
  • Serve as chief liaison to state agencies, schools, nonprofits, and business partners to foster collaborations and program expansion.
  • Prepare and present reports on program activities, impact, and financials to Board of Directors and key stakeholders.
  • Perform other job-related duties as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in community education, wellness, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of digital literacy, online safety, and proactive technology use for various age groups.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, including public speaking and advocacy.
  • Proven success in grant writing, fundraising, and relationship-building with donors and partners.
  • Marketing expertise, including managing web content, social media, and outreach campaigns.
  • Ability to analyze data, develop reports, and drive continuous program improvement.
  • Collaborative spirit, able to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Tech-savvy, with proficiency in standard office and digital communication platforms.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and resourceful in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Public Health, Social Work, Communications, or a related field is required (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum three years of progressively responsible experience in educational programming, nonprofit administration, or digital wellness initiatives.
  • Experience in staff supervision, program management, and/or community outreach.
  • Public speaking and/or training facilitation experience, preferably with youth and/or families.
  • Documented success in program expansion, fundraising, and grant management strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Valid driver’s license, proof of liability auto insurance, and ability to drive a personal vehicle on a daily basis for agency business.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a standard office and community environment, with travel throughout the state for events, meetings, and outreach. Occasional remote opportunities.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Company-issued laptop and cell phone.
  • Ability to travel for various presentations and outreach events.
  • Valid driver’s license, proof of liability insurance, and ability to travel for agency business.
  • Flexibility to work variable hours, including evenings, weekends, on-call, as required by organizational needs or emergent situations.
  • Occasional lifting of materials or equipment up to 25 pounds may be required.
